EEK!
A short while ago I
came to a frightening realization.
My mother had only
just turned eighteen when I was born. So, if I had carried on the tradition and
had a child at the same age, I would be a mother to a 19 year old!!!! How scary
is that? If you are in this situation, hats off to you because this really
scares me. My Grandmother was not quite 42 years old when I was born.
I think
I need to sit down.
The big FOUR O is looming and I
feel like there’s a midlife crisis going on. I want to shout, “Stop the
world, I want to get off!” I am now heading for the category of being a
“woman of a certain age”.
A gradual panic has seeped into
me. What happened to my life? My dreams? Time has passed by in a cloud of
unrequited intentions. So many plans and ideas never came to fruition. Is this a
symptom of midlife crisis?
A symptom of midlife

having many positive elements in our lives.
A symptom of midlife crisis? - Trying to identify old parts of yourself
that you've suppressed?

A symptom of midlife crisis? - Simply a new phase of life? A time for
reassessment and reappraisal, a learning period providing the opportunity to
change.
A symptom of midlife crisis? - A fear of growing old?
Answer: All of the above.
I looked up a
definition of mid-life crisis: “A mid-life crisis is an emotional state of doubt
and anxiety in which a person becomes uncomfortable with the realization that
life is halfway over. It commonly involves reflection on what the individual has
done with his life up to that point, often with feelings that not enough was
accomplished. The individual may feel boredom with their lives, jobs, or their
partners, and may feel a strong desire to make changes in these areas“
Oh, dear, this is
IT, so I decided to set up this website as a way of getting this out of my
system. We can’t avoid it, so lets just go for the ride and see where it takes
us. “I’m too young for this!” I still hear a voice crying out in my mind!
Have a look
around; make yourself at home. I have made a list of interesting websites and
products to do with the symptoms of midlife crisis that I found useful. Included
in this site are articles on health and slimming, women’s health issues and
there’ll be something for the guys too. I will regularly update this site with
news, interviews and a monthly book review.
